Mary is a program manager for The Ohio State University College of Engineering’s Center for Design and Manufacturing Excellence (CDME), having joined the team in May of 2017. Mary is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), specializing in product development for the healthcare market.
She has a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering and over 25 years of experience in developing products for medical, government, and commercial clients. She has managed projects from concept generation through manufacturing transition, ranging from cell therapy products to durable devices. She has technical expertise in the ergonomic design and testing of systems and devices to enhance operational effectiveness, safety, ease of use, and total life cycle cost.
Prior to joining CDME, Mary worked for Battelle Memorial Institute and The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in various roles commercializing technologies. She has experience in intellectual property management and served as a member on an Institutional Review Board, protecting the rights and welfare of human subjects participating in research. Mary currently serves as a member of the External Advisory Board for The Ohio State University Department of Biomedical Engineering.
