Congratulations to the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), Ohio State Student Chapter for receiving the Publicity Excellence Award, awarded by The Ohio State University College of Engineering and the Knowlton School of Architecture. The College of Engineering, along with Engineers’ Council, hosts the Annual Student Organization Awards each spring. The event recognizes outstanding engineering and architecture student organizations and their advisors.

The judging committee noted BMES' success in growing the Engineering in Healthcare: Industry and Research Symposium, which provides students with the opportunity to present their research work on posters, as well as growing the Women’s Event: Sculpting your Future, designed to empower women in the engineering field. BMES, along with other student organizations, also helped create the Bio-Hack event, which allows engineers, designers, makers, and developers to get together to build creative solutions to actual problems.

In addition, BMES will receive a $100 monetary award for their outstanding work and contributions to the OSU Engineering community.  BMES is advised by Mark Ruegsegger, professor of practice and Alexis Ortiz-Rosario, assistant professor of practice.
